In-circuit test systems

In-circuit test systems are a common and well-spread technology in the electronics manufactury industry. It offers a quick and efficient solution to test printed circuit board assemblies. More complex and advanced ICT systems are being developed to meet the rising requirements of the test industry.

Many years ago, Digitaltest, a Germany based company made the decision to develop reliable bed-of-nails testers and Flying Probe testers to be used in specialized applications and new product introduction. These state-of-the-art testers make Digitaltest one of the leading in the industry.
Digitaltest is represented in Hungary by Cobra Control Ltd., we offer test hardware and software with professional technical support.
Digitaltest’s most popular product is the MTS series (Modular Test System). The MTS testers are different in scale starting from small desk-top testers (MTS30), through the medium-size MTS300 hybrid system (analog and digital), to the largest tester with highest pin count, the MTS800. Due to the modular design it is possible to develop test applications with flexible upgrade capabilities.

Main features:

  • Analog reed-relay matrix with more than 7000 non-multiplexed test nodes.
  • Hybrid pins can be configured as analog or digital.
  • Digital driver/sensors with programmable voltage levels.
  • Analog Measurement Unit:
    •  three separate voltage/current source
    • two measurement units (voltage/current)
    • resistor, capacitor and inductor measurements
    • polarity check
    • connector test
    • opens check for digital ICs
  • Up to 1000 measurements per second.

Compared to the competitor’s testers, the MTS series has a great advantage that it has a real 1:1 pin multiplexing. This means we can configure each pin separately as analog or digital depending on to the product to be tested. It can help a lot when building test applications saving time from fixture design allowing more focus on fine-tuning the test program.
